A few years ago I found that my day to day life was getting complicated. I literally felt that I was going to go crazy trying to keep things together. There was always so much more… stuff around. Real stuff. Virtual stuff. Internet accounts. Cheap things I didn’t use accumulating in the closets.
I began to realize that the anxiety I was experiencing was in direct proportion to how complicated and cluttered I’d made things around me.
So I began making decisions with simplicity as my yardstick.
I initially thought that simple living was something like becoming a monk and living in the mountains. But that didn’t seem realistic — and it just didn’t feel like me. I had to find a way to live simply while being fully engaged in the real, very complicated world. I couldn’t run away.
I founded Budnitz Bicycles with a this principal in mind.
My titanium bicycles are made by hand in the USA by some of the most distinguished bicycle craftsmen in the world. They’re arguably the prettiest bicycles anywhere. They last a very long time and they’re really, really fun to ride.
And, they’re simple.
Not simple because they’re low-tech. We design our frames using 3-D modeling software that didn’t even exist five years ago. We use cutting edge components & high-tech materials.
Our bikes are simple because they’re uncluttered. No bright logos. Not much maintenance to worry about. They’re lovely, they’re light, and they work.
They make our customers very happy. They make our lives simpler & better.

We’ve updated bicycle models No.1 and No.2 for 2012. New handlebars (no spacers!). A reinforced rear triangle that improves the power of our already impressive disc brakes. No.2 has had a total fork makeover.
Most exciting to Paul, our new headbadges are laser cut out of titanium to match our frames. All bicycles shipped after October 1, 2011 will be new 2012 models. Enjoy!
