For anyone who has noticed that the Kidrobot website is a little dull lately…

We switched to a new eCommerce platform and it’s riddled with bugs. Ach. Trying to knock those out one by one first, and hopefully can get a more fun site design up there in a month or two. Redesigning the forums and Kronikle too finally. People think that Kidrobot is such a giant company but really, the creative department is 4 or 5 hyperactive people trying to put out 100 toys a year, plus everything else we do. None of us really know what the hell we’re doing.

I said to someone recently, man if I wanted to be absolutely perfect I could quit trying new shit, and the haters would have nothing to hate, because everything would be predictable, but what fun would that be? I think I’d kill myself. It’s like David Bowie, each album was different, some were better than others but all were interesting.

Love Bunny is the best plush ever. You have to pick this toy up when it comes out. We put beans in the feet. Jeremyville’s proportions are perfect. I’m on a plush rampage this month, Kozik’s got Wilson the F*cking Furious Teddy Bear coming out too. I called Frank last year and said, let’s make some really pissed off teddy bears, and the next morning there was a sketch of Wilson in my inbox. I love Frank. A true professional. You wonder why he’s successful, it’s because he’s the nicest guy on earth and he delivers his art early. Let that be a lesson to all you dillittantes out there.

It’s all about returning phone calls and being on time. Otherwise I’ll see you working at the White Castle in 10 years. It’s always heartbreaking.

The hardest working guy in the toy scene is probably Sucklord. He doesn’t answer to anyone.

After next week it’s back to vinyl vinyl vinyl. The next Kidrobot Black is possibly the best vinyl toy I’ve ever made. I’m not telling nothing till it comes out though…
