All experience is relative as long as all experience is filtered through consciousness. Consciousness is only aware of itself through itself.  

It is like looking in the mirror and trying to see oneself objectively.  The one that is looking is the same one that is looked upon.  If we stare at ourselves long enough we realize that the feedback look that is our attention never tells us the real story.

Something that only sees itself through itself can have no permanent or fixed ground to look out from. 

This is why observed reality is always relative — relative to ourselves looking at ourselves.
